Education and academic qualifications:

  • 2002: Habilitation work: POIESIS. Classical and contemporary approaches on the theory of the ancient Greek literature.
  • 1998: Ph.D. degree. Ph.D. thesis: “The Ancient Hermetism – sources, doctrine, studies and structure of the core myth”
  • 1966-1991: Study at the National University of Athens, Greece.
    1991: MA in Linguistics at the National University of Athens
  • 1985-1986: Study in Classical philology at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”

  • 2003-present: Associated Professor in Ancient Greek literature, Department of Classics, Sofia University
  • 1999-2003: Chief assistant professor at Sofia University, Department of Classics
  • 1997-1999: Senior assistant professor at Sofia University, Department of Classics
  • 1995-2004: Visiting lecturer in ancient Greek culture and literature, ancient philosophy and religion of the late antiquity in the Depatment of Humanities, Mediterranean studies and Comparative religion at the New Bulgarian University, Sofia

Editor in chief of “Delos” – a series of books from and on the ancient Greek philosophy and rhetoric, edited by “Sonm” Publishing house. (Since 2000 there have been published the Bulgarian translation of “Metaphysics” by Aristotle, “Platon Lesen” by T. A. Szlezak and “Rhetoric to Alexander” by Pseudo-Aristotle).
